BB Bakery is a traditional French Salon de Thé (that’s cafe to us Brits) bringing the authentic taste of real French baking to London. Whether you want to meet friends for a coffee and a pastry, relax in comfy chairs over a spot of lunch at their bakery or… for something a little different you could enjoy a unique BB Afternoon Tea Tour on a Routemaster Bus…
BB Bakery is the place to be…
We opted for the ‘little bit different’… The London sightseeing tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (depending on traffic)… but believe me the time goes by in the blink of an eye. The sights, the food and the whole experience is not one to be forgotten. Quiches and finger sandwiches at the Marble Arch and Piccadilly anyone?
The experience was even better shared with Karen of Mini Traveller fame!
BB Bakery Bus advertises that a sightseeing commentary is not included in the price. However, their staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and do offer a small informal commentary without even knowing it.
I was impressed with standard of crockery considering the afternoon tea was aboard a double-decker bus. No plastic was in sight, all of the plates and cake stands were beautifully ornate in their own right. We sat upstairs and the next time I book a BB Bakery Bus Tour (you can book easily online) I will not hesitate in paying the small supplement for the seats at the front of the bus.
There was an array of sweet and savoury french delights….
Everything was neat and uniform, from the serving staff’s waistcoats to their lidded coffee cups and orange bottles. I loved the whole experience and came away with the biggest smile!
I was a little dubious about how clean everything would be before we arrived. I needn’t have worried though, as everything was spotless. I was impressed with the standard of the service, the food and the sights.
I’m always quick to judge on macarons and pastry but both were delicious and above all – none greasy. The only problem we encountered was that by the time the scones arrived we had no room left to eat them… but not to worry – BB Bakery offer a carry out box for leftovers.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a birthday treat or someone looking for something different to do whilst in London. The bus picks up and drops off in the same location (two to choose from!)… and if you like Christmas Lights I can think of no better way to look at them than with an afternoon tea on this bus.

BB’s Bakery also offer gluten free, vegetarian and Halal Afternoon Teas in their shop and aboard the BB Bakery Bus. In my opinion, an absolute steal at just £45 per head.
Highly recommended. Thanks for reading: All Aboard The BB Bakery Bus – and a big thanks to BB Bakery for having us!
Have you been aboard the BB Bus?
Love and lemon meringue pie,
