Girl Off Grid…

Ok, ok. So not exactly ‘off grid’ as defined by the Oxford English but these past few months I’ve blogged less and less. Until last month… when I didn’t publish a blog post at all.

I haven’t fallen out with blogging or social media in any way. I still get instagram related thumb cramp like the best of them. I’ve just been taking some time back for me and chilling out. Since falling pregnant this time around I can totally appreciate the ‘constantly exhausted pigeon’ meme doing the rounds on Facebook. Read more

10 Thrifty Style Accounts To Follow On Instagram

One of these days I’ll get around to giving Little Miss Vista a fashion show of all the gorgeous pieces for my wardrobe I’ve thrifted over the past few months. The last thrifty fashion post I shared (you can read it here) was really well received and I LOVED producing it… but sadly I just don’t get the time to shop, style and shoot as much as I used to.

When it comes to thrifting items of clothing, I only have three rules:

1. It’s over a fiver it has to be *really* special.
2. No holes, no bobbles, no stains.
3. If I don’t have anything I can wear it with already in my wardrobe – put it back. Read more

The Month of May

I cannot believe it has been a WHOLE month since I set myself some frugal goals for the month and since we last had a real, proper catch up – my word, what a month May has been…

The Month of May written by katie haydock for life on vista street

This month has been a bit of a difficult one by all accounts. A few bits of stress over a few different things mounted up and has caused a few sleepless nights. Our possible impending house move being one of the biggest.

We’re still waiting on a yes or no decision. Long story short – it’s driving us bonkers!

An operation that I’ve been waiting for has been postponed for at least another fourΒ weeks. Anyone suffering with Gallstones will know why this is a stress for me. I was looking forward to not having to panic about what I eat when I go to London for a mini break for Brit Mums this year. No such luck.Β  Read more

UK Holidays: What I’m Wearing

This blog post is more of a visual aid for me. You see we’ve been to Geronimo Festival at Tatton Park today – we had a great time but more to come on that later – and the weather was phenomenally glorious.

So, SO dry and sunny. I’d love more of the same for our holiday next week… but with us holidaying in Wales this could be highly unlikely.

So without having to shop (because I’m skint) what can I take with me to wear in every weather related eventuality?

Like, if it’s REALLY hot…?

UK Holidays: What Little Miss is Wearing

Yesterday I was telling you about what I plan to wear whilst we’re on out Family UK holiday.

I’m all packed now but I’m still gathering bits and pieces together for the little one… I’ve been trying to pack her bag for a few days already.

Now that she is bigger I never know how many sets of clothes to take for each day. We are guilty of leaving her to be a little bit mucky rather than change her top every time she spills (bibs are now pointless). Little Miss Vista is also notorious for not being a good traveller.

Fingers crossed for a puke free journey – but on long distances we do tend to leave her in as few clothes as possible.

I’m figuring at lestΒ one pair of leggings and one t shirt for each day we will be away from home, as well as the following items: Read more
