I know very little about the origins of Jambalaya to be completely honest. I know it’s a Spanish-French-African rice dish originating from Louisiana (thanks google!), and I know that this recipe is utterly sumptuous and easy to make: Slimming World SYN FREE Sweet Potato Jambalaya Recipe.
To my knowledge Jambalaya (derived from the work ‘jumbled’ I believe from the comments on a Jamie Oliver website recipe) is usually made with chicken, chorizo and / or prawns. But just recently I find myself leaning more towards vegetarian dishes so sweet potato really speaks to me: It’s easy to prepare, satisfying and really tasty – not to mention you can eat them until they come out of your ears on the Slimming World Plan.
There are few things in this world that make my little girl smile more than a Babychino. That said, there are few things that I enjoy more than getting in on the Babychino action… even the best of us fall off the Slimming World wagon but when it comes to Babychinos (or Hot Chocolates if you want to be a ‘grown up’ about it) there is an alternative: Slimming World Cheap and Cheerful Babychino.
It’s time for me to construct the family weekly meal plan and as social media would lead me to believe, today is blue Monday.
First thing this morning the boiler was as dead as a dodo. PANIC. After a few minutes of both Mr Vista and I standing there, pressing buttons and scratching our heads we realised something vital… the washing powder box had the pressed the boiler switch on the wall to off.
We may be dummies but the point that I’m making is this: things aren’t always as bad as they first seem. When faced with certain peril, stop. Take a deep breath and like the kids of ‘Bear Hunt’ figure out a way to go through it. There is always a way – sometime it is as simple as turning the switch to on.

Is it just me or when you think “what year is it?” just for a split second you think it’s the 90s? I’m not sure where the last twelve months went, nor am I exactly sure how I wound up being a 30 something working mum when I’m still 17 in my head – but what I do know is that our family life needs more organisation.
