What’s Up Gok?

I’m giving my age away here a little bit, but I was an impressionable, self conscious early twenty something in the era of a very special man.

A man that all men wanted to be (ish) and that all women wanted to dress them.

The TV show ‘How To Look Good Naked’ saw me through some pretty rough body shaming times, and circa 2006 gave me something to look forward to watching at night.

I am of course talking about Gok Wan, and how he, in 58 GLORIOUS episodes showed us gals how gorgeous our wobbly bits actually are.

Gok also designed the demi-corset that I spent many a pre-baby night out wearing so that I could show off how TINY my waist actually is was. I adored his lingerie range in collaboration with Simply Be.

Imagine my high pitched squealing delight when I saw on a mailing list on my emails that Gok had gone and designed a clothing range for Tu at Sainsbury’s (I should point out, right now, that this is in no way a sponsored blog post). Not that Gok needs any help from me to sell his wares, but…

How shall I dress myself?! Let me count the ways?!

This denim skirt is only £16! It’s midi. It has the split up the front. What’s not to love?! I’d tuck the blouse into the skirt, and add a contrasting belt to the boots. Oh, those boots!

I have never worn wet look leggings or jeggings… but I could be tempted by these coated high waisted jeans… especially with this mum-tum forgiving embroidered top. It did not escape my notice that the colours of embroidery on the top match the colours of the bobble hat (and matching scarf). Cost of the whole outfit?! Just £42!

I’m a sucker for a patient Mary Jane. I buy at least one pair per year and then proceed to spoil their heels by driving in them. I love everything about this cord button down skirt and poncho. Love, love, love!

All of these beauties can be found *here* – once again, not an advert. Perfect for the style conscious busy Mum this Autumn. Great pieces to keep and layer up for Winter. Just get a load of those colours though…

Love and shiny Mary Janes,
