I do love day at the races. I love the frocks, the atmosphere and the flutters!
I’ve been to the races for three years on the run now (this is what I wore last year), but this month I managed to go alone… well, with a gaggle of giggling ladies anyhow.
Because it was for a special occasion we all stumped for the ‘posh’ enclosure too. Because of this I thought I had better get spruced up.
I acquired a beautiful, stalk emblazoned French Connection dress a few months back from a friend that was having a huge clear out… she was the friend that gifted me with a blue floral L K Bennett shirt dress too.
I had been waiting for an occasion to show this gorgeous frock the light of day – this was the PERFECT occasion…
I also made good use of my old faithful blue Primark shoes, my Urban Decay 3 palette that Father Christmas brought and my straightening irons.
It turned out to be a terrible hair day! Two cute little braids in my curls managed to save my flat hair and make it look a little more trendy.
I added a brooch and some matching drop earrings to my outfit to add a little sparkle. And because of the gorgeous mandarin collar on this Kimono Dress I left my necklace at home.
This satin belt came with the dress and was perfect for cinching in the waist to add a little shape around my middle. I’m still a little concious of my two year postpartum belly so love that this dress disguises it.
What was your favourite outfit of the month?
