I’m all packed now but I’m still gathering bits and pieces together for the little one… I’ve been trying to pack her bag for a few days already.
Now that she is bigger I never know how many sets of clothes to take for each day. We are guilty of leaving her to be a little bit mucky rather than change her top every time she spills (bibs are now pointless). Little Miss Vista is also notorious for not being a good traveller.
Fingers crossed for a puke free journey – but on long distances we do tend to leave her in as few clothes as possible.
I’m figuring at lest one pair of leggings and one t shirt for each day we will be away from home, as well as the following items:
This little cosy reminds me of something that I had when I was a little girl – although if I recall correctly, mine was shades of green – I picked it up in the Mothercare Little Bird sale at the beginning of the year for the ridiculous price of £2! Little Miss looks super cute in this and it’ll be ideal for the beach if the sun stays as hot as it has been. I like cosys in the nice weather as it makes it easier to slather the factor 50 on!
I picked these little sandals up in Peacocks when I visited Green Oaks a few weeks back and couldn’t leave them. The feel really comfy, they are easy to get on and off with Velcro and cost less than a tenner! Ideal for ‘playing out’ shoes. the rainbow bands are simply to keep Little Miss’s fringe out of her eyes.
I still haven’t decided if we’re going to take Little Miss’s actual comforter or a close second favourite. I’m not sure any of us would cope well if Pooh Bear went missing. I love this little outfit – perfect for a day wondering in the sun.
The top is thin cotton and shorts are cotton too. All those teeny surfaces being covered in SPF 50+ materials is a huge comfort. I’d pop some trainers on Little Miss if we were going out somewhere. She has a tendency to like to walk everywhere these days (where did my baby go?!?!?!?!)
And so we’ve been using little Panda Bag from Trespass in leau of her reigns. She actually likes wearing her bag and detests her baby ‘lead’ as she calls it. It usually contains: one pull up, a spare pair of leggings, a drink and a box of raisins.
Of the blissful lives of our two year olds…
I’ve got a bit of a thing for spots and stripes. I wear the two clashing patterns a lot myself… but there is something about this soft pink and nautical get up that gets me every time.
The top is lovely thin cotton and is from Next and washes like a dream – and the shorts were part of a multi-set (with the pair above) from Matalan in the sale- £2.50 for the pair – this time last year.
You will notice a few bits and pieces in the way of hair accessories in this post. Little Miss at the tender age of two and half does now actually have hair! And it is beautiful… but she isn’t keen on doing anything with it.
So to stop her hair from constantly being in her eyes, we use pretty little hair slides, like these from Peacocks (again, from Green Oaks) and hair bands.
Occasionally she will wear a bobble for approximately 12.6 seconds… Slightly longer if you throw her sun hat over it.
Do you remember I’ve said before that I’m a sucker for Monochrome and brights / pastels and nautical themes? Another thing that will get me every time…?
This pink pineapple play suit from Peacocks (Green Oaks again…) makes me wish they did it in my size! Little Miss looks super cute and trendy in it, especially with her Trespass floral print bandanna…
It’s button down so can be a bit faffy if toilet training, but it’s ideal for playing in the garden or on the beach. It covers her shoulders from the sunshine and is light and cool. And it folds into nothing so will fit into her panda bag without interfering with that all important box of raisins.
Her dolly even matches!
Another good thing about this play suit is that it is easily layered for a day out and about. We’re massive fans of home knits and have plenty of friends and family members that are more than happy to oblige.
And two of the best things about home knits?… They are made to order and almost always come with matching items.
From day to night or from hot to cold. Either with sandals, doodles or welly boots!!
Spotty long sleeve top
Stripes long sleeve top
Pink knit cardy and beret
I think we have everything here we could need… What would you pack?
