Le Clean, C’est Freak: Astonish Competition

Le Clean, C'est Freak: Astonish Competition written by katie haydock for life on vista street

It is a very rare occasion indeed that my house is tidy. I’m tired and I have a toddler – I think that is enough justification. However, my house is always, ALWAYS clean!

Before Astonish got in touch with me, I knew who they were and I had already tried a few of their products. Astonish has a full range of products, which are all Vegetarian Society Approved as well as being approved by Cruelty Free International, to help you clean your home from top to bottom guilt free.

Better still, many of the products in the range have an RRP of just £1, so you can be sure your house is spotless while also saving some pennies for yourself too. I’ve spotted Astonish products in almost every supermarket I’ve visited too:

I’ll be honest. I’ve maybe been put off Astonish in the past by it’s low price but I needn’t have been. The price has no reflection on the quality of the product. I’m well and truly converted.

I liked the smell of most of the products (with the exception of the heavy duty cleaners like the mould and mildew remover) and thought the cleaning power was as good if not better than some of the other leading brands.

Astonished: Revived!

I was also surprised at much you get for your money. They bottles are BIG… and for me the fact the products are all cruelty free was a relief. I’m not an animal rights activist or anything but I do rest easier knowing no animals suffered for the cleanliness of my home.

Astonished: A bit of a face lift…

Another favourite of mine is the mould and mildew remover. It is harsh and little bit smelly but it really did make the difference on some of my slightly darkened bathroom grouting.

Astonish also have a great blog of their own – full of useful cleaning tips.

  1. Cleaning the shower plug hole – pulling the hairs out makes me wretch even though I know they are mine!

  2. I really dislike cleaning my windows although I do them every fortnight 🙂 It takes me ages to get them just right LOL!!! 🙂

  3. I HATE cleaning the bathroom, drives me mad. It never seems to stay clean for long enough to justify how long it takes to do. Also, I always manages to smash my knuckles on the (awful brass!) taps. I can’t wait until my husband finally agrees we need a new (better designed, less ‘hurty’!) bathroom – hopefully a self-cleaning one!

  4. I literally cannot stand cleaning the oven as the previous occupants never did….so I haven’t done it in so long!

  5. I dislike cleaning the oven out. It’s a dirty job and it never stays clean for long. It’s nice when it’s done though.

  6. I hate cleaning the toilets because I just feel like i’m spreading germs elsewhere (even with wearing gloves and washing hands 10 times!)

  7. I love cleaning the bathroom because you make it look so clean – however not keen on cleaning the oven, its so messy & takes forever

  8. It has to be cleaning the oven it takes forever is a filthy job and never feels like it’s good enough

  9. The worst thing for me is cleaning the oven. So messy. I do really like Astonish products. The best thing about them is they are cruelty free. They have the Leaping Bunny certification.

  10. Like many others it is cleaning the oven even though since getting my Neff oven 4 years ago I have cleaned it once a month and it only takes me about 15 mins. Psychologically I go back to the days where it would take all morning and I just can’t rid myself of these memories 🙁

  11. I hate cleaning stairs as it is so difficult carrying the vacuum around or else it is a case of having to use a brush and do it by hand.

  12. Cleaning the oven – it’s messy, dirty, greasy and smelly – I am so not a fan can’t you tell?

  13. I detest cleaning the oven. I’ve been putting it off for a while now and every time I look at it I think URGH!

  14. I hate cleaning the oven. I don’t use conventional oven cleaner because the smell gives me a headache so it takes a while!

  15. Cleaning the window frames, but I use the Astonish Oven cleaner it brings the UPVC up a treat.

  16. I hate tidying after everything- if everyhting’s tidy I don’t mind making it all clean but finding places for the clutter is the problem!

  17. I don’t know which I dislike the most – cleaning the oven, trying to get the shower screen clean or cleaning the loo. All horrible jobs that need to be done. I have tried Astonish anti-bacterial spray and it is great.

  18. Cleaning the oven my worst chore as takes forever! But probably my fault because I leave it till it gets too bad.

  19. I hate cleaning my oven just because it seems to take me ages to do, then BAM we have pizza for tea and it needs doing all over again 🙂

  20. Cleaning the oven – yuk! Need to do it soon, though, or I won’t be able to see through the door!

  21. cleaning the toilet with 4 children I clean it a lot and it is always covered in something yellow or brown Eugh hah

  22. I hate cleaning my oven as its hard to reach into the back without getting covered in grease and dirt….

  23. Ooh its a close one between cleaning the toilets and cleaning the oven. I hate doing them jobs because the are a messy job.

  24. Cleaning the oven……its because I leave it so long between cleans it gets really dirty

  25. I hate cleaning the bathroom because I’m a clean freak and it takes me ages because it’s a grimy job.

  26. I hate cleaning the bathroom because I find it really hard to keep on top of the mould on the tiles.

  27. Cleaning the windows, I always think I’ve done a wonderful job and then the sun comes out and all I can see are smears!

  28. just hate sorting and putting away the clean cloths, the socks are just the worst, can deal with all the rest but that, the clean stuff is taking over the sofa

  29. The oven, it’s mucky and hard work to get it cleaned, always end up loosing a nail or two too as I have to scrub so hard, even with using baking soda which is brill

  30. I hate putting the washing away, I don’t mind washing and ironing it, but I will do anything to get out of putting it away! 🙂

  31. I really hate cleaning the patio doors but they have to be done often because our cheeky little Cocker Spaniel likes to look out into the garden so leaves nose and tongue marks
