Do you remember Julia?
She was my blogger advent door number 8…
Julia has been writing her Five Under 5 posts monthly since September. I’ve loved reading them and have even picked up a few of the items that Julia has liked… and Little Miss Vista just adores the Paperchase ‘Bambi’ we got after seeing it in November’s post… even if the one we picked up happens to be a drunk and refuses to stand up!
Her posts were so popular and she enjoyed researching and writing them SO much, that Julia has turned this recurrent blog post into a Linky!
Sadly, I’m too late with my post this month to link up – but I love the posts SO much, I thought I’d join in anyway.
A lot of the frivolous items that my family and I pick up tend to be under £5 because we’re on a bit of a budget. Not as tight as it used to be but we’ve learned to rein in the expenses. Some of our luxuries are often worth more than a fiver but we just get them from the ‘right’ places.
1. Katy Perry Eylure Self Adhesive Lashes. £2.49 – Bodycare. TWIN PACK!
I don’t wear false lashes very often, so when I do I like them to be as easy as possible to apply. These self adhesive beauties couldn’t be more simple… and I love this particular type as I always worry I look like a drag queen when I wear heavy make up. And at less than £3 for two pairs? Happy, happy Katie!
2. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. 99p. Bodycare.
I’ve been using this for around six months after a friend of mine, Hayley, recommended it. I have very few breakouts and this is so gentle around the eyes. I used to buy it in a bigger bottle for £5 but then discovered the travel size in Bodycare. I’ve stocked up again this month to see me through the ‘central heating’ season.
3. Little Miss Vista’s ‘Gingerbread House’. FREE – just paid P&P. Toucan Craft Box.
Ok, so not gingerbread. Cardboard and glue. But still fabulous. This came in a toucan box. We tried our first ever toucan box this month as it was just £1 with our o2 priories (normal price around £4.99). It was so nice to be able to let her go wild with a glitter glue pen. She designed this herself and I just helped with the cotton wool. I was the gluer – she was the sticker.
4. Ooo Christmas Tree… £1.49. Tesco.
This glittery little number was reduced on the whoopsie in Tesco. It’s a little on the dry side with sitting on the window ledge above the radiator, but it’s still happy in all it’s gold glitter glory… and it brightens our front room as our big tree is in the dining room this year.
5. Skinny Gingerbread Latte. £2.15. Costa… 5 syns!
One of the things I love about the slimming world lifestyle is that I can have one of these Lattes and not have to worry about it. I just use five of my precious 15 syns for that day and enjoy it. They make me feel so Christmassy and to me, there is nothing quite like a frothy coffee in a paper cup to make me smile!
So there we have it – my Five Under £5 for December… What were yours??
