The Truth About Monday’s… #TheTruthAbout

I am about to admit something quite strange… I like Mondays.

I don’t go to the place that pays me on Mondays (or Thursdays) but that doesn’t mean I don’t go to ‘work’.

I get to be a stay at home mum twice a week, plus I have the weekends as family time, and to be honest, it works for me. Those three days that I do go to work, I get to talk to adults and remember, fleetingly, what it is like to be ‘Katie’ once more.

I’m usually missing my Little Miss Vista by lunch time and hanker after my 5 pm finish, but I like to think it’s worth it. I’ve managed to hold on to a little of my career until I’m ready to go back to it. I’m not sure I’d have it in me to start over again in a few years time.

Just the thought is exhausting.

So, if there is no lie in involved, why do I like Mondays so much?

Monday is Mummy Daughter day. More often than not it is just us two.

I like to make the most of my days with my Little Miss and get out and about, so Monday is usually our busy day – in comparison to Thursdays when we usually stay in out pyjamas until after lunch.

It’s unusual for us to not get up with Mr Vista on Monday morning. This is mainly because one of our favourite activities of the week is at 10 am.

We are fed, washed, dressed and out the door by a quarter to.

the truth, truth, about, #thetruthabout, mondays, I like mondays, mummy, daughter, parenting, swimming, puddle ducks,

After we have rocked out at Read and Rhyme for an hour, we take a slow stroll back. Sometimes via the shops if I forget to submit the Tesco delivery by 9 pm the previous evening we need a few bits.

I normally have a larger than normal lunch on the agenda on Mondays. This is to keep Little Miss Vista fuelled up whilst we are at Puddle Ducks.

We have only been going to swimming lessons with Puddle Ducks for a few weeks, but we are already members for life. Little Miss Vista has loved the water since the very first time I took her swimming at three months old.

the truth, truth, about, #thetruthabout, mondays, I like mondays, mummy, daughter, parenting, swimming, puddle ducks,

In comparison the swimming lessons that we used to attend that were run by the local council swimming pool, Puddle Ducks is simply outstanding.

Our instructor, Jamie, is just magical with the babies and is incredibly patient with the mummies (Dad’s are welcome too, but it’s all Mums in our group).

I love being my little girls mummy every day… but I especially love it on Mondays.

And I like to think that she loves to be Little Miss Vista… particularly on Mondays… and that’s why it’s my favourite day.

What is your favourite day?ย

  1. Sounds like a fab day and one to treasure each week. I don't hate them either. It's usually been a hectic weekend and it's our time to chill, catch up and have a nice day! Lovely post and enjoy many more Monday's to come!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Jess x

  2. Sounds like a lovely day all round.
Thursdays is usually our busy day as we have bounce and rhyme at 10 and playgroup straight after in the same building until 1pm, I like Thursdays because O is usually asleep before we even pull out of the carpark and is often out for a couple of hours so I get time to myself too ๐Ÿ™‚ xxx

  3. What a lovely day you have on a Monday, I can see why you like it. I’m so glad Little Miss is enjoying Puddle Ducks, I was so impressed with them, like you say it is just above and beyond other swimming lessons! xx
